Date Night is Important When you are Married

Date Night is important when you are married

Do you remember dating when you were in high school? Do you remember how much fun it was to do different things? Did your dates go out the window when you got married?

It’s possible that you continued to go out after you got married, but maybe it went away after you had children. This is not good. You need to get out and do things on a regular basis. When you do this, you forget about the things adults must remember. These things can include bills, your job, and other stresses that you may have in your life.

Going out on a date at least once a month is healthy for your Christian marriage. There are so many things you can do to have fun. Some require money while others may be free. The important thing to remember is you need to get out of the house and do something. If it’s possible, you should get out of the house when you do your date night.

Sometimes it can be hard to find things to do on your date night, so here are some suggestions.

1. Dinner and a movie
2. Walk along the beach
3. Ice skating
4. Miniature Golf
5. Concert
6. Go for a swim
7. Stay in a hotel for the night
8. Go on a hike
9. Go on a picnic
10. Go to the fair
11. Roller blade
12. Go on a bike ride
13. Do Bible study with another couple
14. Get a couples massage
15. Go out for ice cream
16. Watch the sunset at the lake
17. Make a pottery project together
18. Take dance lessons together
19. Go camping in a tent
20. Movie and dessert

Just because you are married doesn’t mean you can’t and shouldn’t go out. It’s important to spend time together, just the two of you. You need to get away from all the hussle and bussle of everyday life and have some fun every once and a while.

It’s healthy for married couples to do this and it should be done at least once a month. Of course it will depend on your financial situation as to what you do and how often you go. But, as you can see from the list above, you don’t need a lot of money, if any to do something. If you have children, a babysitter and the cost for that will play a roll in what you do and how often you do it.

Try to plan a date night for once a month. Plan something special each time and make sure it is something you both enjoy. You will be happy you did this, because it will give you time together alone and you won’t be sitting at home where you will worry about your finances and everything else. Plus, you won’t be tempted to clean and do the laundry.

So get away on a date night. You deserve it.
