Making Time For God's Word

Making Time for God’s Word

Just like anything else in our lives, making time for God can be hard. We work all day; run the kids to all their activities, make dinner, and do the laundry. That doesn’t include a home business, house cleaning and other appointments that we have during the week.

One of the best ways to manage everything you have and make sure you have time for God is to use time management.

The best way to get started with time management, you need to get a day planner. Your planner needs to have one page for each day or one page with two days on it. You want to make sure you have enough room on each day to write everything down.

To do this, pick a day and make a list of all the things you have to do. Make sure you add at least one time during the day for Bible study and one time for prayer. Once you do this, put a number beside each item indicating the order they need to be done. Then add a time for each item. Make sure you give yourself enough time in between each item so you can get it done.

Setting this schedule and working it may be hard at first. When you discuss this with your family and give them the reasons why it needs to happen, they will help you work toward your goals.

Now that you have this all set up and you are ready to go, make sure you stay positive throughout the day. When you start the day, get out your planner and keep it in a place where you can have access to it at all times. As your day goes along, make sure you cross off or check off the items you complete.

The best way to start your day is to get in prayer. Pray about your day, the day that your children and spouse will have, and pray for the health and safety of everyone in your family. Once you have done this, you are ready to start your day.

Half way through your day, I recommend you take 15 to 30 minutes for Bible study. If you have a busy day planned, you can do this while you eat your lunch. This will help you get through the rest of your day feeling great.

Sometime during the evening, right before bed or before you get dinner started, I recommend you pray again. Pray for a great day tomorrow, pray that your family will have a good night sleep, and thank God for the health and safety of all of your family members.

When you take the time for God each day, you will have a successful day, you will feel better about yourself, and you will get so much more accomplished. When you take time for Bible study, you will learn so much and it will be a great feeling. Making time for God is so important and it’s a must for the “on fire” Christian. When you follow these tips or come up with your own, you will be successful in making time for God.
